A huge well done to Ali Fernyhough on winning the BD Equilibrium Products Elementary Restricted National Championships
Ali Fernyhough was crowned National Champion in theEquilibrium Products Elementary Restricted class yesterday at the British Dressage National Championships at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.
Ali, riding Chateau, won the class with an amazing 73.54% with the second place rosette going to Tara Kusch and Regrette on a score of 70.68%.
Ali is based in Gloucester where her and husband Rowland run a successful business producing and selling quality horses from all-rounders to Olympic level. Having made a name for herself in the showing world winning many championship titles Ali has turned her sights to the dressage world with her own seven year old, Dutch bred Chateau who stands at 17.2hh. Chateau has been with Ali since he was two and they intend to move up to Medium and Advanced Medium over the winter.
In an interview with British Dressage, Ali said of Chateau – “I was so pleased with him today; when I came out I thought if someone asked if I’d like to do the test again, I’d have said ‘no, I’ll take that’. It was one of those tests where everything went to plan and he was so relaxed and I could ride every movement.”
Caroline Szewczyk took third place riding Zandokan with a score 68.80%. Caroline was in the final 10 for the Equilibrium 2014 Rising Stars competition and we would like to congratulate Caroline on her achievements this week at the Championships as she has had many hurdles to overcome with George.
