EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round at Hanbury Countryside Show

The Hanbury Countryside Show in Redditch, Worcestershire held an EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round on Saturday 5th July 2014.

Twenty-six combinations came forward for this second round and each combination was aiming to produce a treble clear in order to reach the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival.

After first producing two clear rounds, four combinations went on to contest the final jump off in which two then went on to post a treble clear.

Clea Phillipps (47) from Loughborough, Leicestershire took victory in this second round on board Ricky Roller, a 7 year-old bay gelding owned by Vere Phillipps. The combination was drawn last to go and Clea knew that a quick clear would secure the win, something that the pair duly achieved. Their treble clear was secured in 35.58 seconds.

Second place was taken by 18 year-old Holly Jones from Pershore, Worcestershire with her own 9 year-old bay mare Lexus V. Holly and Lexus were first to go in the jump off and they got it off to a good start when they secured their treble clear in 35.95 seconds.

After having produced a treble clear each, these two combinations will now go forward to the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final.

EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round at Dean Valley

During a busy weekend of second round competitions, Dean Valley in Woodford, Cheshire hosted an EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round and this was held on Sunday 6th July 2014. Fifty-one combinations started out in this second round and once again, each competitor was focusing on qualifying for the respective Championship Final in August.

Each starter was aiming to produce a treble clear in order to reach the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival.

The jump off was contested by the twenty-five combinations to deliver two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off and thirteen combinations then went on to secure a treble clear.

The fastest treble clear of this second round was delivered by Anthony French from Malpas, Cheshire on the 6 year-old chestnut gelding, Kinsale Houdini, owned by the Kinsale Stud. The combination was drawn twenty-first to go in the jump off and with ten treble clears having been produced before them; Anthony knew that he would need to produce a fast but careful round from his ride. The combination not only left all of the fences up, but they did so in 35.70 seconds, giving them the win by over two and half seconds.

Second place was taken by 35 year-old Corinne Collins from Congleton, Cheshire on her own 8 year-old chestnut gelding Bugatti B. Corinne and Bugatti B also produced a quick treble clear, securing theirs in just 38.37 seconds.

Rachel Wilcock (31) from Chorley, Lancashire took third place with her own 8 year-old grey mare, Bonne Espoire. This combination produced their third clear in 39.03 seconds.

This second round saw an additional ten combinations go on to produce a treble clear, which means that another thirteen combinations will now go forward to the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final.

EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round at Ashby Show

Last weekend saw the Ashby Show at Cattows Farm in Heather, Leicestershire host an EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round Sunday 13th July 2014. Forty-two starters came forward for this second round and each of the competitors were focusing on qualifying for the respective Championship Final in August.

Each starter was aiming to produce a treble clear in order to reach the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival.

Seventeen combinations delivered two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off and ten combinations then went on to secure that all important treble clear. This then meant that the clock was crucial in deciding the order of the results.

The fastest treble clear of the day came from 22 year-old James Williams from Rutland, Leicestershire on board his own 7 year-old bay mare Calinka III. James and Calinka were the only combination to secure the all-important treble clear in under 40.00 seconds, clocking up a time of 39.58 seconds.

Second place was awarded to 20 year-old Lloyd Royle from Chesterfield, Derbyshire and he was on his own 7 year-old brown mare, RVS Du Blue. A careful third round from this combination saw them cross the finish line in 42.21 seconds with no faults to add.

Third place was taken by 50 year-old Mark Thompson from Findern, Derby with his own 6 year-old bay gelding Woodfield Supreme. This combination delivered their treble clear in 42.65 seconds.

This second round saw seven more combinations go on to produce a treble clear, which means that additional ten combinations will now go forward to the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final.
