Description
Calmmunch is a perfect calming horse treat. It is a high quality, 1kg formed block of slow dried Timothy grass so to maintain a fresh and succulent flavour. The blocks have magnesium, B vitamins, camomile, hops and vervain added, which are well known for their calming properties. Calmmunch blocks can be used in conjunction with the regular diet, and are particularly useful:
- For nervous or anxious horses, to help support a calm outlook in stressful situations
- Travelling, or at shows
- Before exercise or during clipping
- As a distraction when stable companions go out
- Horses on box rest
- As a calming horse treat
Horses are trickle feeders, which mean they would naturally spend 75% of their time eating. This ensures that their digestive system works at its best but sometimes daily routine or weight issues may result in their diet being restricted, and your horse not getting to snack as much as they would like!
Calmmunch provides a threefold approach to calming; firstly by the compressed fibre form offering an extended eating time so satisfying the innate need to forage and support gastric health. Its appetising taste can help distract the horse from the stressful situation as well as the carefully selected calming ingredients providing support. The low sugar content of Munch makes them an ideal snack or boredom breaker for horses or ponies prone to laminitis or obesity, and the airtight packaging not only means that they last for a year, but also maintains that ‘just harvested’ smell and freshness.
Ways to feed Calmmunch
Calmmunch blocks are a great way of helping your horse with their daily fibre intake, and can be fed in a number of ways to both extend your horse’s eating time, and keep them entertained:
- Can be fed wet or dry
- Can be fed in the stable, field or when travelling
- Feed in our specially designed Munch Net
- Place Calmmunch in the middle of a full haynet for an added surprise for your horse!

The mini grass blocks and hay nets have been a life saver for my horse on box rest with a tendon injury. I gave him these when he couldn’t settle into box life and I instantly saw a change. He became more settled as it kept his mind working trying to get the grass out the hay net and keeps him entertained for hours as well as taking the edge off him. I would highly recommend for any box rested horse!

“Lenny tucking into a delicious Hay Block by Equilibrium Products! Great for any Horse on box rest like my man because it is low calorie, low sugar and cereal free, which leaves me worry free about him putting on weight with a damaged tendon.”

“My horse adores them, meaning they are a great, healthy way to reward him, which he loves. I have also found Vitamunch a good way to keep Sky occupied whilst we are away from home. I first bought Vitamunch when we were staying away at a show and Sky was getting quite stressed with everything going on. I was looking for something to keep Sky occupied and the Vitamunch worked perfectly. I fed it from a munchnet hung from the middle of his stable, meaning he spent many hours playing with it which he loved and it stopped him worrying.
I believe that Vitamunch cubes are definitely the best stable toy/snack available due to their high fibre and low sugar content. They are also enriched with many vitamins and minerals. This means that unlike traditional stable licks and toys that are loaded with sugar, the Vitamunch cubes provide a direct nutritional benefit to the horse. For this reason, I think that the Vitamunch cubes are a great product as they provide the horse with entertainment, whilst providing a nutritional benefit and not loading unnecessary sugar into horses.”

Just wanted to say – my horse totally loves these, especially the hedgerow flavour!
Being a larger than average chap – likits tend to only last less than a minute or two. I hung it up in the morning and he was still vitamunching in the afternoon!
Though I think he was a little concerned that he had been put on a diet when he saw the mini haynet!

My horse likes the Vitamunch. It took her three days to eat it so I am pleased with that as if she had scoffed it down in one session, it would be expensive to buy. But to have 2-3 per week is acceptable!

“I would like to state how FANTASTIC your new product vitamunch is! It is packed full of nutrients and goodness your horse needs! My B.E. Eventing horse (paddy) loves the meadow vitamunch for a bit of relaxation after being exercised and groomed.”

“I am writing to to firstly congratulate you on this amazing product. My horse is currently on box rest after just under going colic surgery and gets bored easily so I thought I would try the Vitamunch blocks and he loves them!!”
Hilary Boughton –
“It was the ultimate test as they have access to a field of lush green grass but chose the Vitamunch! I also had to put my 2 year old, Shower, on the other side of the fence as he and Twinkle were fighting over it! My horses are quite fussy and won’t touch certain makes of licks and treats. However, they enjoyed the Vitamunch and it has passed their test :)”

“I love it because my stallion can’t be turned out and when I hand graze him I notice how he picks certain things, dandelion and cleavers being some if the things it gives him some natural variation in his diet especially when the carrots finish. I particularly like it for travelling when we go abroad as I feed it soaked and I think thus helps keep him healthy !

“I would just like to say how grateful I am that you have designed the new munch net treat!
My young dressage horse sadly had to have an operation last week and these treat are the only thing that keeps him settled and occupied long enough to keep himself out of trouble with his rather stressed mummy.
Trying to keep a 5yro quiet is nearly impossible lol.
He absolutely adores them and I have never seen him tuck into anything like this before, he will choose to eat his munch net over hard feed and hay.
Once again thank you so much for a job well done.”
Mrs Suzanne Weaver –
“I felt I had to email you to say thank you for a fab product !
I have tried other products of a similar type but nothing compares to yours. I have a quarter horse and a hairy cob who have to stay in some days due to my quarter horse having sarcoid treatments . They used to get bored with hay until I came across your vitamunch ! I was at my local feed shop and the owner suggested it, so I bought the 2 pack with munch net x2. Well i can say the boys nearly bit my arm off to get them! I have tried the Moreish Meadow and the Healthy Hedgerow and both have been devoured with relished. Now, when the boys have to stay in they watch me get the green munch nets out and they start banging the doors ! I can do anything with them, except take the nets away, when they are engrossed in munching .
Thank you again for your fab product.”

“I have a horse on boxrest (tore a hole in his stifle) but he hasn’t been very settled, so I ordered some vitamuch from viovet. Now this is a very fussy thoroughbred who doesn’t normally entertain any fibre blocks and I wasn’t sure if he would touch them and therefore were they worth the money. However, he loves these (both flavours), they keep him settled whilst the other horses are turned out!”
Lucy Griffiths –
“I would like to give you a 10 million* review on your feeding blocks, my horse Konnie has to have 2 weeks box rest and as soon as I opened the packet she immediately cheered up and was desperate to get to it! We still have 12 days to go and I think your products are going to be the only thing to get us through, thank you!”
Natalie Kay –
“Calming munch is what I used on my guinea pigs when I’m attending a show to help them relax I like pigs that are calm and and relaxed so have you ever thought about making the calm munch in small bricks that are compressed I know I pull it a part for my lot and they love it good for less stress pigs and more calm at shows.”
