Redwings 

Redwings Horse Sanctuary is the UK's largest horse welfare charity, rescuing neglected and mistreated equines, giving them a safe place to live and providing essential veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and care for the rest of their lives.

The charity currently cares for over 1,500 rescued residents within the Sanctuary, while a further 700 horses and donkeys have been rehomed to loving Guardian homes around the UK, creating vital space to help even more horses in need.

Brooke

There are 100 million working horses, donkeys, and mules worldwide, earning an income that people rely on to put food on their tables and send their children to  school. Due to poor health and welfare resources, like vets and farriers, these animals are suffering from exhaustion, malnutrition and disease.

Brooke believes in a world in which working animals are free from suffering and have a life worth living. Their teams work with owners, communities, local health providers and policy makers to create both immediate and long-lasting improvements to the lives of working animals and their owners.

Meet the Artist

We are incredibly grateful to Faye Hobson Illustration who worked with us to bring 'Crunch', the pony featuring on our Advent Calendar, to life on the packaging.

"Hi, I'm Faye and I'm an illustrator from Norfolk. From a young age I have loved horses more than anything, this of course made them my main subject of any drawing!

I have always loved art and studied it at college, I remember one of my tutors however, didn't approve of my illustration style, thankfully I took no notice and continued in the same style which has brought the illustration of Crunch alive today!

I have been creating commissions for a good few years now, to start with I would stick to horses and other pets, over the years I have developed my ability to draw anything that's requested, people, vehicles, buildings etc.  My style is on the caricature side, whilst not being too cartoony.  I love to bring out the funny and light hearted side of things, so the more cheeky the subject the better!   If I was to give advice to anyone wanting to create commission based art, I would say stick at it, it can take a long time to build up a good following and customer base ( I have many returning customers who I am so grateful to) but I believe if you love doing it then keep at it!"
