The Story
Our approach to equine nutrition is based on listening and responding to what your horse really needs in his diet on a daily basis.
We believe that a good quality diet of fibre and hard feed is sufficient to meet your horse’s daily nutritional needs. There are times however, when your horse may face stressful situations which can cause disruption to their dietary needs, such as
• Increase in work levels
• Change in routine
• Change in social environment
• Travelling
• Competitions
• Illness or injury
• Limited turnout
• Breeding season
The Simplyboost varieties have been designed as an addition to your horse’s daily feeding regime, at times when extra support is needed.
FAQ's
Why add Vitamin B12?
Vitamin B12 is the least abundant of the vitamins found in nature – plant products contain essentially no B12. The main source in the body is microbial fermentation on the hindgut. B12 fulfils important roles in the production of blood cells and in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein, where its role as a pick me up is no doubt derived from. In the hindgut of the horse it is also important in the conversion of fibre to energy sources that the horse can use.
Is SimplyBoost suitable for laminitis sufferers?
Yes because the sugar/starch level is negligible.
I have a 18 year old show jumping horse and he is very fit but gets tired travelling to shows and needs a bit of spark or energy like he has at home. Would this product be any good and what are the side effects of it as I know a few energy products can be sensitive on the tummy?
SimplyBoost Energy adds a boost of vitamin B12 to your horse. Vitamin B12 works to improve energy supply in the cells of the body; horses can need extra supplementation if:
– They have been working hard – which depletes the amount of vitamin B12 in the body
– Forage intakes are restricted – the digestion of fibre in the hindgut is a key for vitamin B12 production in the body.
It could be that travelling creates a bit of both of these conditions, and so a B12 boost may well help. Vitamin B12 is water soluble and readily absorbed.
The feed rate is low at 50mls per day but provides the same boost of vitamin B12 to one that a vet might give as a B12 injection as a pick me up.
Vitamin B12 is soluble in water and is not associated in any way with digestive discomfort.
When adding simplyboost Energy to my horse’s feed, how long before I would see results/how quickly does it work?
Vitamin B12 is readily absorbed. It works to improve energy metabolism at cell level, and so you will see results within a week if your horse needs more vitamin B12.
Horses can need extra supplementation if:
– They have been working hard – which depletes the amount of vitamin B12 in the body
– Forage intakes are restricted – the digestion of fibre in the hindgut is a key for vitamin B12 production in the body.
Will adding simplyboost Energy to my horse’s feed make my horse hyper?
We would not expect your horse to become hyper when using Simply Boost Energy – it is not working like say starch or sugar that provide a sudden boost of sugar and/or maybe some digestive discomfort – B12 is usually administered as a general pick me up.
I am eventing tomorrow can I feed it today and tomorrow am and between phases?
Yes. Horses can need extra supplementation if:
– They have been working hard – which depletes the amount of vitamin B12 in the body
– Forage intakes are restricted – the digestion of fibre in the hindgut is a key for vitamin B12 production in the body.
Travelling to an event and then competing can create a bit of both of these conditions, and so a B12 boost may well help. Vitamin B12 is water soluble and easily absorbed, so is readily available in the hours after dosing.
How do I feed SimplyBoost?
SimplyBoost is added to hard feed and the daily dose (50ml Horses/25ml ponies) can be given in just one feed or split across two. We do not recommend adding to a water bucket as not all of the water will necessarily be drunk. It is not designed to be squirted directly into the Horse’s mouth.
What if a human accidentally drinks it?
SimplyBoost is not harmful to humans or palatable to humans. If it is drunk then the human body will flush out any excess nutrients.
If a horse is being fed a multi vitamin and mineral supplement do I need to feed SimplyBoost?
Yes there are occasions when it is beneficial to add extra vitamin support to your horse’s normal diet. SimplyBoost has been developed to support horses and ponies when there is a disruption to their routine which causes extra stress that their normal diet is not designed to cope with.
Can I use more than one variant at a time?
Yes the SimplyBoosts can be used singularly or combined with each other. For example a competition horse during a busy season would benefit from using all three Boosts around the time of events.

This is my first time using this product and I will absolutely purchase again – this stuff is amazing! I got this after a competition two weeks ago where the pony was just slightly sluggish. I knew she needed something and thankfully I stumbled I found this. I have been putting this in her feed almost everyday since. Today, at another competition, she was flying around! I highly recommend this product, along with the electrolytes.

Love this product, we use it building up to competition and during periods of heavy work. It does exactly what it says it does and Ko-Ko is always enthusiastic for his job. Getting his nutrition right is really important to maintain performance and aid recovery.

“Having tried other similar products to the Equlibrium Products Simplyboost ENERGY with little or no effect I was interested to see if it would work. I was looking for something to give my horse a bit of ‘spark’.
Mikey is a 10 year old ISH and I feel at times he can seem lethargic and particularly on show day I wanted him to be a bit more enthusiastic for the job in hand. I used Simply Boost ENERGY for the first time for just a few days when we had quite a busy diary to see what it would do and can honestly say I definitely noticed a difference!
He definitely had a bit more ‘spring in his step’ and after a 2 1/2 hour hack, Mikey was still striding out and keen to continue on – whereas normally I would have needed lots of leg for encouragement to get us home! 3 days at jump camp, a few days galloping at the beach and again he was still giving me that little bit more than normal, and seemed that bit more energetic!
Another big benefit for me was the mint flavour. Other products he has refused to eat in his dinners and so I had to syringe in (not easy when you have a horse that holds his breath and then spits whatever you have syringed in back at you). The strong mint flavour meant I could feed it as part of his dinner with no fuss.”

“I have owned my horse Sparky since he was just a foal with his mum. However, I have always found he is lacking that extra ‘spark’ when being ridden. Having tried a few different supplements with little or no noticeable difference I was keen to give Simplyboost ENERGY a go.
Sparky is a laid back chap in general but when out competing I need him to have a little bit more energy and give that little bit extra. Since I have been feeding Simplyboost ENERGY, I have noticed a real difference in his energy levels. A few months ago I would have struggled to complete a second prelim test at a dressage competition but now he achieves consistent scores across both classes. His work on the flat and over jumps has dramatically improved and appears to have a new love for work.
Sparky, unlike most 7 year old Appaloosas, can be very fussy when it comes to food. However, he polishes off his dinner with Simplyboost ENERGY in without encouragement, which has been an issue with other supplements I have tried. I can say I am converted to using Simplyboost and would highly recommend to others in a similar situation with their horses.”

“Sometimes my horses need a little boost, whether it be before, during or after an event. The simplyboost range is an invaluable part of my tack and feed room and are quick and easy to administer. They are also a handy size and fit nicely in the tack locker of the lorry. As they are shaped just like a drinks bottle, it serves as a handy reminder that when I’ve just done 7-8 minutes across country and feeling a little jaded, seeing the bottle makes me think that the horse may well be feeling as weary as I do and prompts me to boost their energy levels for the journey home.”

“I purchased some of your products at Equifest when our Traditional Stallion was flagging. He has been extremely successful competing at both HOYS and RI over the past couple of years but only lightly shown this year. Your Energy product however seemed to do the job. He was pulled top in a class of 50+ Amatuers dropped to 2nd but went on to go Reserve Champion. Won his 2nd class and Reserve again. We then went to TOYS recommended it to everyone 3 wins 2 Championships and a reserve, not a class under 20 strong and kept his energy all weekend.
Needless to say we will be ordering suppliers for next season!”

“Picked up a simply boost energy and electrolyte at Hope Valley Somerford. Fantastic products, really liked both which I gave to my horse last weekend doing his first 1* He was fresh and full of beans on Monday morning. Went and bought some more today. Thanks”
Samantha Osborne –
I am already delighted to notice improvements in my pony’s ability and efforts with ridden work – not only during more challenging jumping work, but more recently in the show ring.
Sam Penn –
This conclusively did ‘what it said on the tin’. The stallion that I competed last season was gelded over the winter and he came back feeling flat. After just a few days he was full of energy!
